Why we built this SERP checker

We run TrendyInAI's SEO in-house across English, Arabic, and Hindi markets. Every time we published a page targeting readers in Riyadh, Dubai, or Delhi, our own screens in Bengaluru showed rankings that had almost nothing to do with what the audience actually saw. The free rank-checkers we tried either lied silently — pretending to change location while returning our real one — or hid the useful features (AI Overview, local pack, Maps 3-pack) behind a paywall.

Why do Google results look different from what my client or I see locally?

Google personalizes results based on physical location, search history, language, and device. Two people searching the same keyword from different neighborhoods — let alone different countries — routinely see different top-10 results, different local packs, and sometimes a completely different AI Overview. To audit rankings honestly you need to simulate a searcher standing where your audience actually is, which is exactly what this tool does using Google's own uule location parameter.

Is this more accurate than changing my VPN or using Google's country domain (google.co.uk, google.de, etc.)?

Yes. Since October 2017 Google ignores country-code domains — typing google.de from New York still returns US results. VPNs get you closer but only place you in the exit-node city, which is rarely the city you actually want to audit. The uule parameter tells Google the exact latitude, longitude, and radius to treat as your location, which is the same mechanism Google Ads Preview and enterprise rank trackers use.

What is the uule parameter and why does this tool build it manually?

uule is a base64-encoded location payload Google reads to override your IP-based geolocation. It carries lat/lng at 1e-7 precision, a radius in meters, and metadata identifying it as a user-set location. Most free checkers pass only a city name; this tool encodes real coordinates from OpenStreetMap so local packs, Maps results, and AI Overviews reflect a specific pin rather than a fuzzy region.

Does hl (language) matter if I already set the country?

It matters a lot. Country (gl) filters which businesses and sites Google considers relevant; language (hl) changes the interface, AI Overview language, and often which pages qualify. Searching mattresses in Saudi Arabia with hl=en surfaces English-language sites and a different SERP than the same query with hl=ar, even though both are gl=SA. Always match hl to the language your target audience actually searches in.

How should I choose the radius?

Use 1–10 km for hyper-local intent (restaurants, dentists, plumbers), 20–40 km for city-wide services, and 60–100 km for regional or metro-area terms. A too-small radius can suppress the local pack entirely; a too-large one blends results from neighboring cities and dilutes what a real searcher would see.

Are the results real Google results or a simulation?

Real. This tool constructs a valid Google search URL and opens it in your browser — you are searching Google directly, just with location and personalization parameters set explicitly. Nothing is scraped, cached, or re-rendered by us, so what you see is exactly what Google returns for that configuration at that moment.

Why do I sometimes not see the AI Overview or local pack?

Google decides on a per-query basis whether to surface AI Overviews, local packs, People Also Ask, and other SERP features. Signals include query intent, account state, region rollout, and short-term experiments. If a feature is missing, try a slightly different query, verify with the 'where am I' button that Google accepted your location, or check again later — the same URL can render different features hours apart.

Does pws=0 mean my results are 100% neutral?

pws=0 disables personalized search history but does not remove all personalization. Google still uses your account language, region, and A/B test bucket. For the cleanest audit, run the check in a private/incognito window while signed out.

A note on accuracy: Google SERPs are live and change constantly. Two checks a minute apart can differ, especially for volatile queries (news, e-commerce, trending topics). Treat any single snapshot as a data point, not a verdict. For ongoing tracking, run the same check on a schedule and compare deltas rather than absolutes.
