What this tool is for

Editors, SEO teams, and educators increasingly receive drafts that read fluently but say nothing. This detector exists to flag that pattern early: not to police writers, but to catch content that will underperform because it lacks first-hand detail, a point of view, or verifiable specifics. Those are the same qualities Google's helpful content systems and answer engines reward.

We built it while auditing hundreds of AI-assisted articles for TrendyInAI, where the recurring failure was never grammar; it was sameness. The paragraph-level view exists because that is where the fix happens.

How to use the score

  • • Run the full piece, then re-run individual sections you rewrote.
  • • Target the red paragraphs: add data, names, dates, and lived examples.
  • • Break rhythm. Vary sentence length. Cut hedging phrases.
  • • Re-check. A drop below 35% usually means the writing is now specific enough.

Accuracy note: AI detection is probabilistic. False positives happen with formal, technical, or translated writing. Never use this score alone to make an academic or employment decision.

Frequently asked questions

How does this AI detector work?

Your text is analysed for the statistical fingerprints of language-model writing: low perplexity (unusually predictable word choices), low burstiness (sentences of near-identical length and rhythm), formulaic transitions, hedged generalities, and the absence of lived specifics. Each paragraph is scored separately and then rolled up into a single probability.

Is the result a definitive verdict?

No detector, including this one, can prove authorship. Treat the score as a signal, not evidence. Heavily edited AI drafts can score low, and formal human writing (academic abstracts, legal summaries, translated text) can score high. Use it to decide where to look closer, never to accuse someone.

What score should worry me?

Under 20% reads as confidently human. 20–60% usually means AI-assisted or heavily templated writing. Above 80% means the text carries strong LLM patterns end to end and is likely unedited model output.

How much text do I need to paste?

At least 120 characters, but accuracy climbs sharply after roughly 150 words. Very short snippets do not contain enough rhythm variation to judge reliably.

Do you store or train on my text?

No. Your text is sent for a single analysis request and is not saved to our database or used for training.

Will editing AI text make it pass?

Often, yes, and that is the point. Rewriting with specific data, first-hand examples, varied sentence length, and a real point of view both lowers the score and makes the content genuinely better for readers and for AI search engines.
